Macro Algae?

I believe this is macro algae that hitched along on my first coral. I didn't think much of it at the time but now it's grown out of control, what should I do?

Try weeding your garden.

I looked over your threads to better understand your system and your experience level, but no tank thread.
 
Beginner in the hobby kinda. Been in it for about for a year now. Also, can you be a bit more descriptive about "weeding". Do you mean just cutting it off?
 
Also a new hobbyist, just realized the algae problem usually comes after the increase of phosphate. It's OK to remove the algae by hand.
