Macro algaes

Has anyone on this site used macro algaes in their display tanks. I've seen some really pretty ones as was wondering if this is possible or advisable.

It depends on the fish you're keeping. I have some red dragon macroalgae in my nano tank. If I put some in my "normal sized" tank the herbivores get a nice snack.

I've seen several folks who have nano tanks do this but I haven't seen any "normal" sized tanks.

I run a display refugium. I don't keep any algae eating fish in it, so when the algae grows I just prune it back and feed to the tangs in the main display.
