Here is an honest question. I bought some red and green gracilaria algae from petco.........I know i know. Anyway it was 2 bucks for both of them.

So Being from petco it more than likely has been soaking in Ick (crypto water) I dont want to stick it in the Poney tank and give them ick. Is there anything i can soak it in to kill off any illness crap. tonight its just floating............

I have a little something I'd like you to try. It may work. It may also kill your algae, since it's usually used for bad black beard algae infestations in planted freshwater tanks, but it might be worth a shot. Put about a cup of bleach in a 5g bucketful of tap water and your macro. Stir it a little bit. Leave it for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Be careful not to leave it in any longer than that. Put it in fresh saltwater (NOT the tank) with some light for three or four days and see what happens. If it lives, I'd betcha anything that was on it will be gone. If it doesn't...well, failed experiment (and let us know)...but you tried and your animals are still safe.
