So I got some of this as display macro. No fish and no Turbo snails in the tank atm.

LFS told me it was nicknamed Red "Cobra" Macro Algae? I know it's a Gracilaria sp., but what's the real common name for it? I mounted it on a small piece of rubble to keep it from floating around.

To my knowledge there is no common name for the genera. Sounds to me like your LFS wants to brand it so they can sell it for more money. You know the Genus which is better than a common name. It is pretty.
 
That's hayi gracilaria.......... Common algae
It will attach pretty quick and under higher light it will grow more dense which makes it look a bit more attractive..

Looks like Gracilaria hayi
 
Either way it's about 4 times the size now and very bushy. Seems to be a good breeding area for my pods.
