Hello,
Does anyone know what kind of micro algae this is and how to get rid of it? It's starting to overrun my tank!
Sal 1.026
Phosphates .03 (Hanna)
Nitrates 0 (Hanna)
Calcium 420 (Hanna)
Alk 8 ( Hanna)
Ph 8.2 (apex)
Tank age 3.5 years mixed reef.
Lights 2 AI gen 3 60% max and kessil 360w @ 30% max 93 gallon cube.

Looks like sawtooth Caulerpa. Can't you just pull it out? It's probably helping to keep your phosphates that low...

I believe it is Caulerpa serrulata. Best control would be manual removal, some fish may also eat it (but not positive), or you could try a bottle product such as Vibrant.

Perfect! Thank you..... yeah I've been manually removing it every week but grows back within 4-5 days. I have a fuge with Cheto haven't purchased a new coral or fish in about a year or so and this stuff just appeared about 2 months ago. I have no idea how it got there....

Caulerpa brachypus I'll bet.

Tough to get rid of once it roots.
