Hey all!

I’ve been perusing the forums and after reading a couple threads about displays primarily geared towards macros, I find myself with a question.

Would it be possible to have a mixed reef with softies, lps, AND macros? I have a foxface that will be in the display, and I know it will most likely munch on some, but I like they idea of a more naturalistic environment for the guy. Also maybe it would help keep growth in check. Anyway, would this be possible (in theory at least)? And if so, would standard reef lighting be sufficient for the macros? I’m planning on running an Orphek gen 2 reef daylight and a blue plus if that helps at all.

Thanks!

You can keep macros in a mixed reef. Like corals they need the right amount of light, flow and nutrients. One drawback is they can release chemcials into the water that favor them and not corals.
