Macro lens for a Nikon D40

Hey guys,

I am not really big into photography but I do have a Nikon D40 camera that I bought for my wife. I was wondering if any of your photography gurus can suggest an affordable macro lens that will fit my D40 and allow me to take stunning up close pictures under my light.

Tamron 90mm 1:1

Superb optics. Right up there with the Nikon 105mm. But much much cheaper.
What you give up is the VR and the heavy duty build quality.
