Macro or hydroid?

Hey there, I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. I saw this wash up ashore; can anyone ID this specimen? Macro, hydroid?

Looks like a red macroalgae, possibly Portieria? Red macroalgae can be quite difficult to identify.

I thought it was Gracilaria, but look at curly spirals not segments.
