Hey everybody,
I am new to aquarium photography, so if anything sounds dumb, I'm sorry:)
Ok, so I have been struggling with taking macro shots with my phone (samsung galaxy s8)
I'm getting an actual macro lens soon but first I was trying to make my own with some lenses.
So, whenever I try to take a picture with the macro lens, the focal point is way too close. I am trying to take a picture of a coral that is a couple of inches from the front of the tank, but it just seems too blurry. I even adjusted the manual focus on the camera and nothing works.

Any help?

That phone is waterproof, stick it in the tank to get closer! ;)

Thanks, I tried that, it worked decently.
I was looking at 2x telephoto lenses but I'm worried that the focal length would be too far away for it to be effective.
Any ideas?

I'd back up to the min distance it can focus on, take the shot and crop any not needed items
Don't use a Samsung myself but does it have a macro mode to focus closer

Thanks for the tips.
I think I might just get a used DSLR camera just to take some better pictures.
