Man, I wish I could get those crystal clear shots like you guys. Im new to photography and Im having I hard time learning what all the settings do/mean, so I have just been shooting in auto mode. Can the pictures get better If I knew what I was doing or is it my lens? I'm using a Sony a7ii with the Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens. This is the best I can do so far.

You have to get really close up to your target.

These are taken with my phone, Samsung Note 8, shot at night with tank lights off with a small LED flashlight.

These are taken with Ricoh WG-6 used underwater
