Hi everyone! I set up my 10 gallon refugium last night, and I am planning on adding LOTS of macroalgae to help keep my 10 gallon NPS tank's nutrients under control. However, the refugium has rather low flow...the overflow is merely trickling into it, and the water surface is barely disturbed. Is there any macroalgae that will grow well under such conditions, or should I expect to add a pump to the refugium to promote more circulation? Thanks :)

I would add a small powerhead.

Agreed ! A little power head to pickup the flow a bit . Get a power head that has a foam block to fit over the intake . otherwise you will be plagued with bits of Macro clogging it up.

Run it for a while and see how it does; my belief is that it (flow) doesnt matter much through the refugium. I've run it from 3-10x turnover and didnt notice any differences.

Thanks! At this point the refugium has been vetoed, so I will just put some macroalgae in my (rather high flow) tank.
