Most macro are fairly hardy compared to coral if you have good lighting. Just be really careful where you buy them from, since they are perhaps the easiest way (aside from live rock/sand) to get unwanted things in your tank. Even if you don't care what's in the tank now because it'll be all macro, suppose you decide later to add a reef tank or re-use anything in your macro tank, or suppose you grow a ton of macro and a friend wants it/you want to sell it/etc.—you'd need to do serious precautions to avoid cross-contaminating.
A good guide is if you see major sources selling them, especially aqua-cultured, they're probably fairly hardy. For example, AlgaeBarn.com is a place to check.
