Hi All,

Would like to have an advise on this.
All this while I runs a china black box led on my tank. But no matter which kind of macro's i placed in my display tank, all will perished. While those that i kept inside a breeding box, do growing fast.
My 60g tank got a pair of false percula, bicolor blenny, royal gramma, fire goby & a saron shrimp. I saw my saron shrimp did taste some of the macro's though, but don't think it could decimated a whole lot of macro's in tank.
Could it be due to water flow as well?

On another note, does those plant grow light that sell on amazon cheap, be it LED, normal bulb or par type, it is sufficient/enough to grow macro's?

Thanks

Light, flow, iron, eaten....I grow macro with a cheap 10$ led grow bulb in my sump. There's better looking things to grow in a DT than ALGAE

Is the breeding box inside the same display tank where you are having trouble? If yes, then the water quality must be ok, so maybe when they are in the breeding box they are closer to the lights, or maybe there is less flow inside the breeding box?

I've seen some really pretty macroalgae display tanks.

Yup. It is inside the same DT.
I was wondering the same thing, but previously i did try to place on low flow yet it still dying off. About the light though, all this while i saw ppl having good result with just a 10 bucks lights make me doubt it. Haha

Might want to try dosing iron. Also, you may not have enough nutrients to support the growth. This if from experience in a planted fresh water tank but I also keep macros in my DT. Carpeting halimeda and codium.

Hmm, i did dosed seachem iron, but inconsistently. I guess i have to try to follow a tight schedule.
On the others hand, I also ordered a brightwell cheato gro to test it out as well.
