What is this? Not really eating today, weird head shakes. Lost a few new fish recently. I dont want to move him, in a packed SPS system. Would interceptor with prazi kill it?

This looks to me - like a thin angel. with a possible worm

Beautiful! Always wanted one but never had the chance.

Head shake = symptom of flukes

Has he been treated for it? Any new non-QT’ed intro lately?

Thanks. He has been a great fish for yrs...

Yes, def. could have come in with a recently added fish. I was thinking flukes, will the interceptor with prazi maybe give him relief? I usually just soak krill in garlic and he overcomes stuff like popeye, but hes not eating much now and swimming near powerhead. .

I missed the issue with the new fish. I think the fish may have an issue - I would think about quarantining.

PraziPro Will indeed work
Other symptoms will be hiding, increased breathing respiration, yawning effect and clamped fins.
Apply initial dosage of prazi and apply no more and on day 9 do water change and apply one more dosage for 8 days
Increase oxygen with air stone during treatment and praziquantel reduces oxygen and appetite
No interceptor which is used for coral bugs

Can you post a video? That helps me judge the respiration rate.

How long has it had that mark on its anal fin? I know it looks like a worm, but I’ve never seen a worm living in the soft fins rays of a fish before.

I don’t see interceptor of being any use here - but praziquantel would help if the issue is flukes.

He was around 120 breaths per min last night, today rate was a bit lower...he is burying head in rocks...i will dose prazipro tomorrow morning, see what happens...i did notice that wormy thing isnt really a worm....its some sort of white external thing

Too late? The prazipro didnt work. I got him into QT, threw some Metroplex in any hail mary suggestions or should i bury him?

If anything - I would add a broad spectrum antibiotic - like kanamycin or neomycin. Look at the change in the anal fin - which to me looks like an overwhelming bacterial infection

Whoa - that thing on its anal fin ate most of the fin away in two days? I've never seen anything like that......that isn't a fluke. I was using the "head shaking" symptom for flukes and just thought that thing on its fin was a minor lesion - obviously not!

Yes, i hope i dont get it on my hands... The fish will probably die in the next few hrs. Well it was a last ditch effort, i tried qt kanaplex/metro/melafix, but its probably too late.
