Made a custom stand, but do I need support in the middle?

Hey guys,
So I'm resurrecting my 10-year-old tank and the first thing I decided to do was replace the stand. I made one, but I didn't put support in the middle (top part), there's plenty of support at the edges of the tank, but I think it it was necessary to have beam in the middle. When I took out the old one, I realized that it had one, so now I'm wondering if I need one.
It's for a 90-gallon tank, 48" by 18".

You should have a a brace in the middle at least to help keep the stand from bowing out in the center. Whether the tank needs it or not depends on the tank I guess.

It should not need it to support the tank. If the wood gets wet (or dry) and warps, then you might wish that you had a cross brace there.

Easy to do now, hard to do later ....
