Made a mangrove swamp

the roots will grow anyway. I would have mangroves growing not touching the sand at all so their roots would form a structure above and below the sand

Just wanted to share how mine was setup with you. I really think these types of tanks give us another dimension to enjoy the hobby and I’ve also noticed they are very popular with everyone. Some claim they are a good nutrient control but I think you would need a bunch, it’s more a enjoyable experience for me than nutrient control anyhow. I find hermits climbing the root all day picking at the algae [emoji4]

Thats is a nice piece man... Really dig that... Im just excited to watch Mother Nature run her course in a little 6.5 gallon clear dream box in my kitchen... my wife digs it too, which is a plus... It really does look very pretty

Mangroves - cool! Inverts for the WIN buddy! Inverts and all the critters is what brought me over to the salt side.

Anemones, Shrimps, Cucumbers, crabs, and worms Oh MY!

I have a question though... how important is water quality with a plant tank? Specifically salinity... im topping off by hand so there is going to be room for error in that regard

I would not worry at all. Mangroves can grow in fresh and brackish waters.

Thats a pretty nice light... bigger than I though and I even measured... the 2 led probably would have been best, but I am very happy with the light so far... Cant wait to start seeing some growth... anyone have a nice lighting schedula for mangroves?

I have 1 healthy mangrove left... hahahahaha! I use the tank to hold all my macros now until I get my frag tank up and running...

Doesnt look as pretty as when I started... hahahaha
