Mag 18 Replacement Advice

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to replace my Mag18 return with a Sicce ADV 5.5 or 7.0. Oddly, the mag 18 only has 1300 GPH at 0ft. Which Sicce would you recommend? The return is feeding a dual overflow 180. There's 3 ft of horizontal tubing that Ts off for 2 more feet each direction. They then go vertical 2 ft and out the returns. Do you think the 5.5 would be sufficient or should I go the full 7.0? I would prefer not to throttle the pump with a ball valve. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated!!!

You need to compare the flow rates at the head you have. The flow at zero means very little.

It is easier to throttle a 7.0 with a ball valve then to get more flow out of the 5.5.
