Mag and calc dosing

Hi all. Just a quick question. I am running carbon and just started dosing mag and calc as well as other trace elements. Do I need to remove the carbon?

Remove if your phosphates and or nitrates are dropping to zero. When your carbon is exhausted it will leach back out with a change in watercolor and fishy sent may become present.

To be honest I only run carbon on an as-needed basis and testing your water chemistry should be your guide.

Seachem Purigen could be a nice day in and day out chemical media.
