how high should I raise my mag for bryopsis? Is there any cuc that will help with it besides a Sally light foot crab? Will it help if I get more blue legged hermits or snails? I only have 4 hermits, 4 cerith snails, and one emerald crab in my 29 gallon tank right now.

You can raise your magnesium level 100 ppm/24 hrs. Values ranging from 1600-1800 seem to be effective. You must use Kent Tech Magnesium though.
Inverts that eat Bryopsis are hit and miss, as well as fish. There are no guarantees the any particular fish will eat it, some tangs do most don't, some rabbit fish do other do not.

you should not raise the mg imo, that hits the non targets. ideally you treat the bry directly, and simply make it gone in 1 hour or so. all the water treatments are hit and miss as stated. those who raise mg anyway aim for 1600 to 1900 as a guess for what might work when restricting to water only treatments.

even if someone opts out of the guaranteed fix into the water dosing option, you still shouldn't dump the Kent into the topwater. ideally its slowly inject it across bry patches underwater, with the calculated dose for the desired range, to burn them before burning the nontargets. this w set off a weeks long waiting event...always keep in mind the 1 hour fix its much better but this fix is rare> people want the no-work option most times. only the fed up do the actual removing :)

So I can't use a 2 part magnesium to raise it? I should only use Kent tech m?

If you go this route, I'd use Tech M. The effect may possibly be due to an impurity, not magnesium, and it seems more folks are successful with Tech M than with some other sources.

Okay I'll keep it in mind if it comes back and gets bad. I did a water change yesterday and tried to clean off the remaining pieces I saw but before I did that it looked like my tang decimated a lot of it all of the sudden out of no where. Hopefully he keeps up the good work! Lol
