Do you leave your magnetic cleaners on your tank glass all the time or do you remove it every time you're finished cleaning the glass? Also, has anyone had any issues with the stainless blades on some like the flipper rusting after awhile of being in the tank? I'm thinking of just leaving mine attached all the time to make it easier to do a light cleaning every day. What's your thoughts? Thanks

I take them out after each use. I like to clean off the algae as needed on the scrubber. They build up algae if left in. Not sure about the blades as I would never leave one with one in the tank. It would be useless (corroded) quickly.

I keep mine in the tank all the time, with no blade.
Took it out the other day to see if water leaked out of the inside of it, and all is still good....almost a year now with it in the tank.

Any issues with anything building up on the wet side touching the glass? Also, what brand do you have?

I agree with brad. I used to take it out after each use. The glass would go a week without cleaning and get ugly. Now I keep it in the tank, I cannot walk by without doing a quick wipe .

Something about it already in there makes it so easy to do and hard to ignore.

Mag-Float
And only a very small spot of algae on the inside pad, nothing to mention...so I put it back in for another year :)

That's what I'm thinking!

I have 2 Mag-Floats and about once a year I switch it out for the dry one. After about a month of drying out I take the one I took out and scrub it with a toothbrush and it’s like new. But the one that’s in the tank stays in the tank all the time
