Mag float vibrate tank?

Noticed today when using the mag float on my 180 that the tank, especially up top when I’m cleaning near the trim, will vibrate the tank. Not enough to splash water, but enough to feel and see the lights above shake a bit.


Is this normal when dragging the mag scrape across tank?

Noticed today when using the mag float on my 180 that the tank, especially up top when I’m cleaning near the trim, will vibrate the tank. Not enough to splash water, but enough to feel and see the lights above shake a bit.


Is this normal when dragging the mag scrape across tank?

I put a small piece of floss between the magnet and the outside glass to reduce the strength of the magnet and stop any vibration. Floss also polishes glass as a bonus.
