So my parameters are normally pretty rocksolid. Had a baby and laxed on testing. So here’s were we
Alk 10.8 normally try to keep 9.5
Cal 445. normally try to keep 430
Mag 900 ouch normally shoot for 1100

So brs calculator says I need to lay off the alk and cal dose a few days obviously.
How fast can I bring my mag up thow. Calculator said I need 2742 ml.

The concern is impurities in the magnesium that you don’t want to add all at once. 25 ppm per day is good. Test error is very common for magnesium, and levels that low are not that common. You’d have to have added a lot of calcium and alkalinity for a long time with no magnesium to get there ( or have very low salinity, check that too).

Salinity is 1.025. I dose 10 ml per day of all and cal with my dos. I never dose mag. Like at all. Dumb I know. could long term neglect result in levels like this?

90 gal display.plus a sump.i figure after displacement I habe about 85 gal of water volume.

In a year of that routine, magnesium might decline by about 90 ppm. I'm not sure if that explains the low level or not. The lowish salinity also accounts for some lowness (70 ppm lower than at 35 ppt).

I figured out what I did. My red sea test kit is suppose to read ml used not ml left. Proble solved. I just read the results wrong. Thanks for your help RANDY.
