Mag What's to high?

u said mag being low will bring down calcium??? hmmm im curious about this becuase at one poitn i hadnt dosed calcium in about 2 months and it got up to about 540 some how or another. its back down around 460 now but only becuase i hav held out on water changed hoping that would help to bring it down

I use NatuReef mag test kit (as well as cal. & alk.) I love them!

My mag. stays right at 1500 and I never dose for it. Doing a 10 gallon a week water changing (on a 180g) using Oceanic salt maintains 1500.
That doesn't sound right

Alpha Coral,
You can use half of the water your test kit calls for, and then test per instructions, when you get to the color change, read the MG reading that you get by the amount of titration and multiply by 2. That will be your MG reading, not as accurate but will be real close.

SubieLover,
If some one is useing Oceanic salt with that high Mg # if doing regular water changes should have decent Mg levels I would think. Depending on what SG level they run and mix at.

You know it's too high when your snails stop moving or are upside down with their foot in the 'air'.
