hey I bought my tank used and it's been up and running for a bit. I see everyone on here loves their mag float but I find mine was ok at first but now it's not getting the job done. I'm not sure if it's because I don't clean the glass as much as when the tank was new or not. I don't see he algae on the back glass until I look through the side. I got the mag float with the tank so I'm not sure if they can wear out.

Mag Float is ok but it doesn't have a scraper edge. You should look in to a Tunze of flipper scraper.

Yes, one side has a pad and the other is a scraper. You can flip the sides by rotating the outside half.

Realize you can buy replacement pads/felt for your MAG float for a couple bucks.

Also, dependent on the float you have, you can buy an attachment scraper.
