Maggie's Mixed Reef Build V3, now a 75!

Still no coral. I'm thinking not today.... Tracking says processing when it should have switched to out for delivery earlier this morning. I don't know if I should try to intercept tomorrow's attempt or what? Bummer.

I'd contact vendor, I had this issue with my bta I was getting. The seller was given accurate information and I was left in the dark with my tracking number. Not sure what's going on with these guys.

Any movement? These delays are so common now, I don't even want to order again.
They actually delivered last night around 6pm. Box was crazy dusty so it was on a truck with them rolling around the area all day, they swung by on the way back to the hub. In fact they didn't even knock on the door, snuck it on the porch and ran. I had to rewind the cameras to see when they actually delivered. I was in the middle of cooking dinner so I didn't get a chance to report back here.

But..... everything but one goni looks good. Of course it's the pink goni I was hoping for that's not looking so hot. Unpacking/dipping it's got flesh coming off, and it's the unhappiest one of the bunch.

Sad pink one

I know you aren't new to this, for the goni in question.

Did you do revive, rinse, and than an iodine dip? And a smell test?

No revive, I should probably look into that, huh?

But yes, an iodine dip for sure. No off smell.

Unfortunately it's on the edge, likely it'll hang on just enough to not be covered under a doa.

So I guess still on my hunt for a pink goni. I'll wait to reorder one until I think these other two will survive long term. The first goni I got looked good with extension and all for about 3 months then all if a sudden it retracted and bailed. But this was early on for me in experience so I think these will have a much better chance.

I gave you a tag, they got a sale inc on riptipe. and there's probably going to be a few (carebares) being posted. Pink with green tips.

The one you got can survive, all you can do is set it and let nature run its course. Iodine helps. You only need a polyp for it to make a comback.

@Goaway awesome, I'll wander over and take a looksie.

Which revive? Is this the right brand?

I used to use the top 1. I need a new bottle. I never tried the second bottle..

Probably the same item. Just different label?

I believe one is a concentrated formula. But they are same thing.

I think.
Yes, this. Amount used will vary per. I always use the top one myself

Danieyella quick question around what time would you say your Dusky decides to be about and not stay in the sand? All day or intervals? I’m asking because most Halichoeres plop in and out the sand throughout the day but I haven’t seen too many Duskys do this.

He only hides again mid day if something is stressing him out - in tank maintenance, me trying to catch other fish, etc

Thanks!!

We did some mushroom picking, and found a few, still a bit early since we got so much snow this winter in the mountains. Will try again in the next few days.

Also found a squirrel skull? It's definitely rodent like with the teeth, not it's bigger than I thought it be for a squirrel. Still neat though.

Lemme see them teefs (and a bottom up shot, and something for size reference)
Forgot the size reference. It's about 2" long. After coffee...
I had a squirrel once. Found him as a baby injured in a park trying to get back up his tree. Must have injured his spine, back legs were non functional. Bottle feed him and raised him for several years. Eventually feelings started to return to his legs and he started to chew on them. Vet said he'll continue so best to euthanize. It's was a neat pet while I had him. Very friendly and would crawl all over with just his front legs. Didn't really slow him down. He could still crawl up my leg to my shoulder anytime. I named him Herkimer. I was 18. Good times.
