Maggie's Mixed Reef Build V3, now a 75!

When I started having kids, I bought their cakes. Then at one point my daughter, probably 4, asked for a doll cake where you stick a doll in the center and the cake is the dress. Had to make that one. Turned out great. Maybe not the best, most professional job ever, but it was a huge success with the kids. Then from there every birthday must have a "custom mom cake". They love thinking of new ideas and helping assemble. The littlest just gets to see the finished product, but the older ones make the cake.

You'd think with 4 kids birthdays a year I'd be a professional by now.....

Presenting, off road trail cake. 2 layer 13x9 chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, a sugar glaze "water hazard", no bake cookie "rocks" and a new sideXside. Charged up and ready to play. I put tape on the wheels so I can peel that and there's no mess.

Pro!

Went to check on the clam, looks like she's walking (slowly) towards the rock.

Then I see this. Apparently this morning was a +1 event. Look at the ring it left in the middle, lol

That "ring" could end up also yielding another baby or two as well.

I maintained a 150 reef 15 years ago. Just remember it’s a pain of a tank to clean and adjust corals, etc. There is a reason they paid me to do it.
This is something I have given a lot of thought into, especially with my armpit to fingertip length of 24", but ultimately I spend so much time just staring and enjoying and so little time with my arms in the tank that i think I can do it. What I really want is a large view and I really can get that with the "tall" tank.

Excited and scared for an upgrade. So much that I don't know that I'll have to figure out, plumbing? Oh my!

So the tank I think, has a standard 55g under the hood, have no idea on anything else.

Will have to to go the garage at first. The spot in the house is where we currently have the TV, so we'll have to remount that on another wall and rewire all that. The stand will need refinished from the pictures so I'll try to get that done fast. I'll need another noop light and definitely a larger return pump. And skimmer down the line eventually now that I'll have the room.

Bonus though is I'll have both set up at the time so I can go a little slower for transferring.

My oven has been on the fritz a while now, and hubs has been looking around for another. I didn't want to go new because I'm a cheap person. Maybe if my kid didn't ruin everything....

Anywho, this LG double oven popped up on marketplace, total score. Was in a newer built house and the new owners wanted to go gas instead of electric.

Now how to use this thing..... I think it has Wi-Fi too :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Your not cheap, you are thrifty.

My dryer has an app too, but I never downloaded it. I just use it the regular way by pushing the buttons. Old school is better for some things.
Oh man I hate my set. All buttons, I prefer knobs. Doesn't remember last settings, have to push 10 flippin' buttons for every wash. Don't like it.
