Magic mushroom melt?

Believe it or not, this magic mushroom was 4 inches across
Buddy of mine wanted a piece, and in the cutting process, the mushroom began to melt immediately
I used a Griffin band and cut it in half
The other half did not make it
I used an iodine dip

For mushrooms I would use a razor instead of a bandsaw.

I’ve had luck with a razor blade, no dip, and cutting right through the mouth. Hopefully he can give you back a cut once his is big enough. ):
While they’re healing I try and put them in the lowest flow spot of my tank.

I forgot to mention, the benefit of the razor blade is being able to leave them in the water the entire time. Aside from quickly removing them to glue them to a new frag plug which only takes a few seconds.
