Magic Sliders

I wouldn't. Unless your tank is small, sliding it around can be a disaster waiting to happen.

Moving the stand, you can have it tip over since more weight at the top than at the bottom. It can twist a little and cause the tank to put undue pressure on the glass or acrylic, causing it to rupture.

And then, you're putting a lot of weight on those four spots instead of across the full length of the tank. Not a big deal with a smaller tank, but I wouldn't risk it on a tank over 55 gallons

+1 THIS would be my biggest fear. any twisting/flexing of the seams would put unnecessary stress and could cause a rupture...at least that's the part that would keep me up at night.

I have nylon sliders on the bottom of my cabinet and I can move my cabinet and full tank when I need to, on my hardwood floor without marking the floor. If you decide to put magic slides under the cabinet or tank be very careful not to stress the tank. That being said I would suggest using plastic shims to lift and slide the slide under and pull out the shims;) if the tank is empty put a piece of play wood then the slide so that there is not twist.

Wow I remember back many years ago I had a 55 gallon fresh water tank break the bottom seam water hit the ceiling and we were just watching TV what a mess. I would be terrified to move a tank with water in it

I've used magic sliders under my stand with 60 and 100 gal tanks and moved them without a worry. No problems. It's nice to be able to move a tank when necessary. I keep the tanks on hardwood floor and it doesn't scratch.
the only thing I worry about is if the stand is not sturdy enough to endure the push or pull on the stand. That could be a problem. My stands have always been built well. There is no stress on the tank itself because I'm not even touching the tank when moving it.
@jazzmik, did you end up using them?

I have something similar under mine ever since I moved. Theyre thick felt pads and my tank is on hardwood floors.

I built my stand myseld out of thick red oak and pretty confident it can handle the occasional sliding.

I try not to move it too often but if i have to its nice to be able to.

I was concerned at first but so far so good, knock on wood. I put a level on it and it sits perfectly level. I only have a 40 gal cube btw.
