I have one patch of zoas that are disappearing. its been very gradual. I don't suspect a critter because I have several thriving patches of zoas. I don't see any indication of picked at or torn zoas. I don't see any attention to the coral by any of my tank mates. However, I do see what appears to be a different color algae on this one rock. I've had these for quite sometime, too. The zoas have just seemed to shrink and eventually disappear. Any idea? Take a look at the pic and see what you think? First for me so I thought I'd reach out to the world and get your two cents.
I should be able to remove that rock. I plan to dip it and see if I can revive the colony. Otherwise, I'll just toss it. Unless you guys have any suggestions?
