1. How do the things in the tank look?
2. What was the Mg level before you added it?
3. You overdosed by about 4x. at one time - BUT - you can add the recommended amount (2 teaspoons) every other day) depending on the Mg level. If I were you - I would get a Mg test.
4. You could do a 20% water change if its high - every other day or so - until the Mg is within the recommended limits.

FYI - I do not think you will have a problem. But - the key is 'what is your Level 'now'. A piece of advice - I assume you didn't have a Mg level before - but its best to not dose something for which you don't have a level.

From reading the instructions it looks like that is just over 5 xs the dosage of a 40 gallon. Think it should have been 1.5 teaspoons.

I'd dump it and just run fresh RO/DI top-off water.

Just dose magnesium on an as-needed basis.

1350ppm to 1400ppm is a good magnesium range

Use either the Aquaforest or Salifert magnesium test kits.

Do you mean do a 100% water change? Curious - just didn't understand 'just dump it'

Hi mate, I've attached a video.
My levels with a salifert test was 1260 and wanted to raise it to 1450.
The tub says add 4 teaspoons to 8 fl oz of water which is 4 cups basically for every 20 gallons. I doubled it as it's a 40g tank and added it to the tank. ????

Unfort - due to a glitch in R2R - I cant see the video - the key is 'what is your Mg Now. My guess is its 'fine'. And if not perfect - its not 'dangerous' for anything. Again - I cant see the video you're recommending
