Magnesium dosing doubts

Need to help trying to understand my Magnesium dosage.
I had low mag, at around 1100, and I started dosing 40ml of ReefLab's SmartComponents Mg every hour (10ml raises 0.34 Mg on a 100L tank). I got it up to 1300 but looks like I can't get it to go to 1400/1450. 2 Days in a row that I measure 1300 with the same dosage that I went from 1100 to 1300in 2 days. Can anything act as a tampon to Mg? From my previous measurements I was consuming around 2,5 a day.

Magnesium testing is very error prone and not very precise.

I'm not sure you need to go higher than 1300 ppm magnesium, which is a tad above 35 ppt seawater.
