Magnesium dropping.

My Magnesium seems to be dropping at a alarming rate. It was steady until about 10 days ago when I added more zoas and first sps. I probably have 10 different zoas, mostly small frags, 1 sps, 2 frogspawn, 1 torch w/ 1 head each. I know it started changing after I added the SPS but is it really consuming that much, just a little bird nest frag. I'm using tailor aquatics to boost my mag btw. Any info would be appreciated.

Do you have mangroves or chaetomorpha? These both bind magnesium in their removal of nitrates....

My Tank is a 75 gallon w/ 10 gallon sump, I know 1335 isn't bad, but I'm trying to aim at a steady 1400. I don't have chaeto or mangroves...

Is it normal to be adding mag every day though? it seems like it's dropping about 40 a day. I do have lots of corals but again mostly frags.

No, dosing everyday with what you have in that tank, doesn't sound right. But you shouldn't be dosing every day, get it to 1400 if you want to, but let it drop off to 1250, don't dose it right away. July 3rd is the only day I see that you shoulda dosed. What MAG are you using?
I see on July 6th you dosed 3 caps, and it didn't go down the next day at all.

Ya I'm very confused

Today is at 1260. Should I be adding mag that fast? It says 5ml cap per 20 gallon every day. until 1350 +

I'm using Tailored Aquatics as the doser Magnesium M.G. - Tailored Aquatics and Salifert Mag kit as my tester.

July 2nd I was at 1290, added 2 caps and went down to 1200. That doesn't make sense to me if any one can explain it.

Your test kit is bad, get a new one I had something similar happen...it was a salifert test kit too. Got a new one and my mag was over 1700.

From the looks of the numbers, I'd have to agree.
