Calcium - 400
dKH - 7.0
Mag - 1300

I added half of the recommended dose of the following two part, still trying to understand what my tank needs

This week I tested:
Calcium - 440
dKH - 7.0
Mag - off the charts, above 1600

I tested magnesium three times with a Red Sea pro test kit.

I don't know what to do, please help.

Even if it was, by mistake, a pure magnesium supplement, it wouldn't have risen that much.

One of the two values is testing error.

What salt mix are you using and what salinity? Unless you have been operating the tank for quite a while, the tank will be almost the same as the salt mix.

Try measuring some new salt mix. :)

I'm using tropic marine pro. Salinity is 1.024. I thought it was a testing error that's why I did it three times. Time for a 4th and 5th I guess. I really like the tropic marine salt.

Maybe the first one was in error, but not likely. That's a reason to try the kit on some new salt water: to see how it is working for you.

You're right. Second number was wrong. I'm still at 1300. Only took 4 tries to realize what I was doing wrong.
