Magnesium Level

I ordered brs 2 part and a magnesium test kit by salifert I did the test twice and it shows 200 ppm could this be right? Alk is 7 and cal 380 did 20% wc a week ago with reef crystals.
I will be doing another water change this weekend then will test again daily to see what I need to add just surprised at the low mag reading thanks for any help

Salifert test kits are a little different how you read the syringe. For a reading of 220 you would have only used .15ml of solution? Sound correct? I'm hoping you used .85 ml and your mag is 1275 which sounds a lot better. I would suggest watching a youtube video just to confirm.

Sure it can be that low if your tank is eating it up. Reg water changes won't be able to keep up.

Those test kits can be a little tricky. Took me several times to get comfortable with them
Only way your Mag could be that low is if you have a ton of stoney corals eating it up. Then you would also be seeing low Ca.

I'll say it.....it can't be 200 with using Reef Crystals....you're doing something wrong, or the test kit is bad. Have someone else test your water.

Thanks for the help that is why I ask before doing something stupid. I was reading it with what I used instead of what was left racin you were right on
