Magnesium problems

Hi everyone... I have been having some problems with my magnesium, I can't keep over 1200. Any ideas for fixing this?

What test kit are you using. Have someone else test for you (or your LFS). i'd first guess test kit problem.....magnesium consumption is not that much in comparison to alk and calc.

What salt are you using? Chances are, if your salt is difficeint in Mag, then every time you do a water change, it is just taking it out (if you are adding any).

I would suggest starting there and then report back. You may need to switch salts to get the levels you want or adjust the mix before doing a water change.

Yup, I would also guess there to be a problem with the test kit. Usually if your mag is off you will have a hard time keeping ALK and CAL stable.
