Magnesium question

Can i use epsom salt that is being sold at local Home Depot (using for plant) to raise my Mag? My mag is a little low 1200 and want to raise it to 1400, if so how much should i dose to raise it? Thanks

Yep. Done it for years.

If you are burning through a lot of mag its better to mix some magnesium chloride in there. I think Randy advises 50/50 with magnesium sulfate (Epsom sals)

For tweaking mag here and there epsom salts are fine.

I would get epsom salts from a drug store, not from home depot where it may be a de-icer grade not USP Epsom salt. Or at least be sure it says "USP" on it.

It is an OK, but imperfect way to raise magnesium. Imperfect because it will slowly raise sulfate relative to chloride. A better recipe sues both magnesium chloride and magneisum sulfate.
