I just checked the bottle and it was about 30ml a day I used to get my mag to about 1350 from 1120 and took about 4 or 5 days. The bottle says add 10ml for every 20 gallons per day.

I should have it down now. I'm at 5ml/day on alk. 10/ml day cal. 30ml/day mag.

Try and check out the reef calculator online, can help a whole lot. When you use it though, do not dose all at once. http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chem_calc3.html

HI Guy`s , I have the Red Sea Pro test kit and read the results all wrong , I was thought I was low ,but it was at 1280.in the last three weeks I put 1 bottle and a half of mg into my 65gal tank . I just took a reading after watching the u-tube vid that was posted on this thread. it is now on the high end 1560, any ideas how to lower it or just let it be .

Water changes. Or let it be. It should slowly come down. Unless the salt you are using is high in mag.

That's pretty high.

You don't really want it that high, but it probably won't do any damage. That's where you want it to get rid of bryopsis so its acceptable for a little while.

I do notice that the "hair algae" that I have which is about 6 pinches worth. It is starting to turn a little brown. Mag was dropping about 20 ppm /day but I checked it yesterday and it is still at 1560. Water change is on Sunday.
