i have been dosing Epsom salt to my reef trying to raise mag levels to fight briopsis.
Is this bad?
I have done it before using a mix of mgso4 and Mgcl but can't seem to get my hands on mgcl now.
Am I throwing off the ionic balance by doing so?

I should have gathered that information from your avatar, but for the record, you didn't include that in your initial post! :p
I didn't. But I also didn't ask how to fight briopsis. Just for the record.
Lol. Just messing with you. I appreciate the suggestion

My understanding is that it is not the raising of your mag level that gets rid of the bryopsis but a trace element in Kent Tech M that does it. I know I tried various mag supplements and it had no effect, but the Kent Tech M killed every trace of it.

That's my understanding as well. Epsom salts has not worked for people I know who tried it.

OK. Well I was able to find Mgcl today, grabbed 250 pounds!! So I should be set for I while.
Mgcl and Mgso4 has always worked for me. I have been dealing with briopsis for years and I do not know where it goes but it will disappear for over a year and then magically reappears out of nowhere. I'm guessing when my mag levels finally get back down
