Magnet Scrubber for 3/4" glass.

I just setup a 750 XXL. I've tried two magnet scrubbers, but the extremely thick glass doesn't allow a good scrub. Anyone had any experience with thick glass and if so what can I buy? Thanks.

I use the Algae Free Hammerhead on my 1/2" tank and it is very strong. Both of these are stronger. Watch your fingers!

Great white is good, though I prefer the Mighty Magnet cleaners ...... be prepared for sticker shock though.

I have a flipper max for my 1/2 inch glass. It will stick to 3/4 too. Works great.

I like my Tunze Care Magnet (Strong) it works great on my 3/4" glass. Tunze even makes a Strong+ that goes up to 0.98" if you are worried that it wont be enough for you.

I like it better than they other magnet cleaners because it doesn't trap the sand in the Velcro fingers causing you to scratch your glass as easily.

I have been using mag-floats since they were a new thing. Picked up a Flipper a couple years back, and loved it. I did note that it was starting to tear up the silicone in my tank after a while. Won a Tunze Long at a frag fest raffle... I likely wouldn't have bought one, too darned expensive. Once I tried it? Worth every penny. I went out and bought a Strong for my new tank with 18mm glass. Works great!

The Tunze lacks the ability to flip it over and use the regular scratch pad surface. Not something I would use anyway, but if you like that sort of thing, the Tunze can't do it. The Flipper I have has a stainless blade. I think just the stainless blade, and heavy magnet, combined to damage the silicone in the tank. The Tunze came with plastic blades. I have a Long, I was using on a 60 cube, and now use to keep the refugeum front clean on my 55g converted sump. Bought a Strong for my 140g rimless, the Long wasn't strong enough. It'd work, but it was real easy to loose the inside piece, and didn't have much scraping power. The Strong is plenty for my 18mm glass.

The Tunze is more compact, gets into tighter areas better, doesn't have any scratch pad surface to collect sand particles, dries quicker when you take it out of the tank. The narrow/wide blade selection works very well for me. Neither one float... the only thing the MagFloat has going for it that neither the Flipper or the Tunze does. In my wide, shallow tank, not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning. I've scratched up my last aquarium with a MagFloat, thanks. Neither the Tunze, nor the Flipper (on it's bladed side) have that problem.

Another vote for Algae Free I've had one for years and it's been great. I haven't used the others mentioned but the customer service with Algae Free is also easy to deal with.

Tunze strong + on my 525xl. Wouldn't use anything else! Algae comes off in strings....the tangs actually follow me around the tank eating it as i scrape. I even have to wait for them to grab it or i would hit them with the magnet. It's pretty cool to watch....

I use the Flipper Max on my RSR 750 and it does the job perfectly. I only use the blade side because I’m paranoid the scrubber side could scratch the glass if a piece of sand or something gets in it.

I've used algae free, mighty magnets, tunze strong and tunze strong +, on my 3/4" glass. Might magnet works better than algae free, but works better on a light haze of algae. The tunze works better on anything heavier, but use the stainless steel blade.
Mighty magnet cleans bigger area faster and float tunze cleans harder stuff and tighter spaces, doesn't float, and the blue clip that holds blade on loosens if you go too fast. I tried the strong first , didn't feel it was strong enough, fell off glass easier. I went to strong plus , worked better, but similar issues if you go fast.
I use both for the type of algae I need to take off.
I never used flipper, so no comment on that.
Hope it helps, I haven't found the perfect one for thick glass.

Actually the Tunze also has a Stainless Steel blade that attaches using a plastic piece. I like that you can remove this part and put it on when needed to scrap the Coralline Algae off the glass in just the corners or where ever it decides to collect. Then take it off when it isn't needed, to help reduce the potential for damage to your tank glass.

The other positive you can buy replacement heads for the Large and short end of the Care Magnet and replace the felt pads that rub on the glass as they start to wear.

I have the flipper max on my 220 3/4 starphire display tank and it does a nice job. Much better price point than the algae free tiger shark or great white. I have not used the algae free so I can't speak about them, but I have used the flippers for a while and I love them.
