Anyone else find them ineffective/weak?

I have a 0.5in sapphire glass tank.

I got the algae free tiger float and it’s the strongest magnet I have ever used. But it doesn’t seem to get off much build up.

I also have the flipper edge max, regular flipper edge, tunze care strong.

All do not work. Manual scraping is what I usually do but it becomes a pain.

Any techniques advice, or anything else you guys do? I know someone that adjusts the angle of the blade so it has better contact with the glass. I have yet to try that though.

I have an algae free and it cuts through whatever builds up on my glass with ease. But I have the scraper blade attachment. That’s the difference maker for sure

Algae free with Scraper blade attachment with actual razor blade works wonders.

I have the Flipper Max on 1” glass and it works great.

I only use the metal scraper but my glass looks great. If I let coralline build up in the corners or something it may take a little more work to get it off but still gets it off after a few seconds on scraping

I have the edge and it works on thicker glass but I have to go over area more than once at times
My Mighty magnets do work almost always but theyre so strong

Totally agree- but in my case i have a biocube 14 so the front glass isn’t flat, it’s very slightly bowed, which makes cleaning without a credit card/ razor by hand nearly impossible HOWEVER on the flat sides I love my flipper platinum. I’m also a big fan of the flipper edge nano (on the flat parts) even though it takes multiple passes- it has allowed me to access/ clean the glass in places I cannot reach by hand. Revealing feather dusters & tiny ball anemones that had been blocked by the algae which was there when I was given the tank & I thought was permanent haha

Might need to check that out. Is that the wider blade attachment?

flipper max edge cleaned my tank in less than 5 minutes my tank is 3/4' glass pricey but way worth it

The Tunze is the only one I’ve found to be really effective. It’s huge though.
