Any one have any suggestions? I have a scraper with a long handle but need one I can get into places at angles the handle one can’t do well. Acrylic is 1/2 inch thick so need a strong magnet.

I've never used the flipper magnet on acrylic however their plastic blade is designed to be used on it and their razor blade is designed to be used on glass but due to the quality of the magnet and the company i assume it is safe to use the plastic edge on acrylic but be careful of picking up sand with the magnet

According to reef builders the Max will work

And according to techden
The standerd may not work as 1/2 inch is 12.7 mm but .7 of a mm is not much

Greatest lesson I ever learned with cleaning my acrylic tank....

Use old credit cards and hotel rooms keys. Can take out everything including coraline algae and wont scratch the acrylic. I dont trust magnets anymore, as Peach stated because they always get something caught between the magnet and the tank.

Yes, that's what I use now, but it can be difficult to reach in some areas and a magnetic scraper would really cut down on the back strain.

Mighty Magnet is my favorite also, my acrylic is 3/4” thick. I use the magnet down to about 1” off my sand bed and then use a Kent scraper or credit card.

For your thickness, the great white or mako will work. For larger tanks, though expensive, the Mighty Magnets are the ONLY way to go
