Magnifica Anemone - issues (new and need help)

Hello,

Long story short I acquired a big magnifica anemone about a week ago. It wasnt my intention but here we are.

Its mouth is gaping, its never fully closed. Everything else looks fine though, most of the time.

I was warned on this site that they are prone to bacterial infections. Could that be what it is? I really dont know much, and any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately it would have best been sold or given to someone that can care for it. But now, the ony hope you have at saving it is treatment and based on your other thread I dont think you have the equipment to do so.

Hope it can be saved.

I don't think it is going to die. I've been monitoring very closely. Its mouth is closed today. Hows it look?

And, what equipment could I get to help it survive?

It does indeed look good.
Theyre referring to a quarantine tank and ciprofloxacin to treat with.

As long as it holds its posture as it is in the photo -- upright, tentacles fully extended, mouth closed -- and doesn't deflate, it should be fine. You'll need to keep an eye on it for the next 3-4 weeks.
