Magnifica care and timeline

I am thinking I eventually want the crown jewel of my nem and softy tank to be an H. Magnifica. I have a spot picked out with a deep cave for foot placement, reasonable flow, and about 550-700 par based on water clarity that day. It's a 120g tank, and this is at a high point in the rockwork maybe 8 inches from the surface and would have no coral nearby.

I have a tank that's been running about 4 and a half years, but there was an awful power outage crash about a year ago. My question is just what I should do to give it the best possible chance of success.

One thing, as a starting point, magnificas like to place their foot on top of a big, flat rock. Not in a cave like a BTA.

I think have an antibiotic ready, they get infected really readily, out of the ~10 I have had throughout the years, I think only 2 didnt require treatment when I got them.

Hmm, Ive used a lot of different ones so far, I think cipro is like the to go antibiotics, there is an article on here with some really good procedure, saved so many of my nems. However, I have had this happened to me really recently, but my LFS has started to dose cipro into the nem tank, and the latest nem I got was unable to be treated with cipro, might be due to resistance bacteria. I had to use amoxicillin as it was the only other I had on hand at the time. Just a heads up

Magnifica anemones need high light and high flow which is not reasonable for a soft coral tank. It would be better for a SPS tank.

Is it bad to keep soft corals in high light? My softies are in the sand and lower light and flow areas of the tank at about 150-200ish par.

The rock where I planned to place it gets light mostly in that range, but maybe you're right and I should consider a species specific tank in the future

@OrionN can definitely answer it better than I can but I think its an art more than a science lol, but one thing I look for is if they deflate for more than two days in a row with mouth gaping. Thats when I start to get worry.

Just from lurking on this forum for years I have deep respect for their opinion on all things anemone, so I'm probably just not going to do one for this tank lol

If you can put the spot light where the Magnifica get hat light and everything else lower with more high light coral near the Magnifica, you should be OK. You will also need to situate the flow such that the Magnifica will get relatively high light.
When I am thinking of Magnifica and Gigantea, I am thinking of high light range that is higher than the average SPS, same with current. If your tank is large enough and can be set up such that the condition meets this in the area, then you should be OK.
