Mahi Mahi as fish food?

So I have Mahi Mahi in my freezer that I didn’t eat and curious if this is good for my tank. I have a few thick filets. I am guessing this would be ok to slice up and feed to my fish. What do you think. Some of the filets are freezer burned so I have no intentions on eating myself.

I have just made my fish food with frozen flounder I caught last summer (fluke here in NJ). Some had feeezer burn witch is just dehradrAted. I did find I really need to run though a food processor pretty good to get pie red small enough. My fox face and large hippo still had hard time to eat bigger pieces. So next time just going to use food processor a little longer. Mix in some other stuff and freeze in thin layers break off and feed. Not sure how big your fish are

I don't think this would cause any problems but predatory fish eat other fish whole, when I make frozen food I always make sure to have the head entrails and all the stuff we don't eat included. So even before freezing it, the fillets are low on nutrients compared to what fish normally eat and then freezing it to the point of being freezer burnt would make it more nutritionally poor. I'd add selcon if your going to feed it to your fish.

One thing to know is that some commercial seafood is processed with a phosphate containing compound to keep it looking good at the fishmonger's. If you caught it yourself it's no worry at all, if you bought it, it's PROBABLY no worry at all. I'd keep an eye on that po4 after feeding.

You’re perfectly fine using it. I use a blend of all seafoods. Yes you need to use a blender to get it to a mushy state then ziplock bag it or ice cube tray to freeze it and use.

To all thanks for the responses. Yes I caught myself. I placed Mahi in a freezer bag. Currently all I have in tank is a blue throat trigger, yellow tang, couple clowns, and a yellow chest wrasse. They are decent size as they devour a clam when I put pieces of it in tank. I’m gonna cut up and put in freezer bag flat with some other ingredients then.
