so this is going to take a wile to completely setup.....

I have the tank with sand in it and running for a week now. the rock wont be here till the end of the week. then it will be probably another 2 months before I get coral and fish in it.

but this hasnt stopped me from picking up a few small frags :) I figure it will give me time to grow them out a little before they get to the tank.

I dont normally dont care for plate corals but this tank is getting one, I had to have it!! ("sunset plate" I picked it up on saturday)

"white" led (about 10k in color)

whites and blues (around 16-20k in color)

Nice set up. Fun and expensive isnt it!!!

not sure its as much fun as it is addictive....
this setup isnt that expensive. I have been buying trading and selling corals with my other tank (180g) for for the past 6 months to pay for it all.
I am hoping that this will be my cheapest setup in the past 12 years because almost everything you can do wrong with a setup I have already done ;)

my tank has had rock in it for over a week now!!
I grabbed a piece of rock from my other tank cleaned it very well with fresh water, then scraped a bunch of coralline algae from it crushed that then sprinkled it all over the rock to seed it.
next I have to order some critters :) pods ...... petco also had a sale on scarlet hermits so I got a few they are sitting in the sump of my other tank waiting...

been a wile since an update tank is doing great!
I took most of the sand out down to about 3/4" of aragonite dolomite mix sand. because of having a shallow sand bed I added a few clams :) I have 4 in the tank right now.

I took a couple close up pics enjoy

sunset plate

bleeding apple scolly

blue gold crocea clam
