Hi may I know normally what methods does people use to maintain KH for large reef tank, let's say About 500 gallon and above. Calcium reactor or KH guardian?

I don’t know exactly, as I have never had a tank that large but a reactor would probably be a good choice.

As far as the KH Guardian, I have one and I love it so far. But it is more geared towards stability instead of replenishment. It will work as a fine tuning mechanism instead of being able to replenish alk in a tank that large. It can work great alongside a CaRx to better fine tune it and give you more stability. But on its own, it wouldn’t be able to handle that demand. It supplements with only sodium bicarbonate mixed in RO. You would still need to think about Ca and Mg depletion. There is a safety cutoff so the KhG cannot dose more than a certain amount of sodium bicarbonate which might be less than what you need in tank over 500g packed with coral.
