Maintenance Schedule - what to do when

So now that I have my maintenance spreadsheet all set up to let me know when I need to do periodic maintenance on my equipment, I realized that I was about 2 months late to back flush my chiller. So I got all set up to do it (put 3 gallons of water and 1 gallon of vinegar in a bucket, and switched the pump over to the tube that normally is the outlet), and had a little AHA moment and put a filter sock on the end of the tubing that the water would be coming out of. I didn't want whatever comes out of the chiller running back into it, especially since I was recirculating the water/vinegar mixture. Started the pump, and BAM...a whole crap load of gunk came out of the chiller! So gross! Folks, don't forget to do your maintenance on your chiller! These are expensive pieces of equipment (I have a 1/3 hp JBJ Arctica), and doing periodic maintenance helps keep them lasting longer and performing at their best!

I use an iOS app called Aquarimate that allows me to track all of my maintenance as well as all of my parameters, livestock, equipment, etc.

Ohhh, there's apps... for this...

I just downloaded one, even if its just to keep track of my testing levels and remind me every week to do a WC.

wow, I didn't know about the iOS app. let me check it out. Thank you for sharing.
