Hey, wondering what you use to:

scrape glass. Long stick with a blade?

Magnet cleaner you love?

Siphon?

Or maybe its a tool you made.

Need to buy some maintenance tools if you have links to anything amazing that you can't live without let me know.

Thanks!

For a scraper - a magnetic one. Make sure you get a large enough one - depending on the thickness of your glass. (I use Flipper) - they sell replaceable blades. A floating version is also helpful!

For a siphon - I use a python - which hooks up to the sink - allows you to suck water out (without or with the water from the tap running) - and then you can easily put a pump into your salt reservior and pump however much water you want back into the tank. It is a simple method.

Good luck with your tank - hope this helps

I bought this for my 5 gallon portrait:

US $3.63 10% Off | 4 in 1 Aquarium Cleaning Tools Aquarium Tank Clean Set Fish Net Gravel Rake Algae Scraper Fork Sponge Brush Glass Cleaner

$4 shipped and it’s just the right height. When I’m looking to order something, I like to check the usual Amazon and Ebay, but also Aliexpress. If it costs less and I can wait, I order and it comes usually in 3-4 weeks.

This is a siphon I made up from 1" PVC & a spring loaded clamp.
The siphon hangs on the rim with the strainer in the water.
A flexible hose attaches to the barb & goes into a nearby sink, held in place by the clamp.
The depth of the top of the strainer determines where the siphon breaks & water stops flowing.
For me it's 30 gallons. While in operation I can do other things & not have to worry about a flood or removing too much water. A "Handy Gadget".

For glass I use and like this or just use a credit card in my hand for harder to reach spots:

Flipper Hand Scraper

Magnet cleaner you love?
I only have cheapie magnet cleaner with the Velcro-looking scrubby side,,, no blade -- I don't like it.

Siphon?
I use and like this (but not near a sink so stuck with a manual siphon):

Python Gravel Syphon
