majano Anemone infestation- very close to jackolantern chalice

i need help with a majano anemone infestation.... i am trying to rid my tank of them but i am very very worried about one of my high end chalices because the majano is very close....
i am worried it will hurt my jack o lantern chalice because it almost looks as if they are touching now. i have some aipstasia-x but i am not sure if it will hurt my chalice. also i was considering trying to scrape the majano from around my chalice...
please help i do not want to lose my chalice...

also please give any and all advice and experience in getting rid of majano anemone ....

Hi, Morgan - Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I've honestly had poor luck with Aiptasia-X - but the syringes it comes with work well for slathering pest anemones with kalkwasser paste. I just hit some (majano and aiptasia) the other day, some of which were touching and stinging corals. When you tickle them with the tip of the syringe, they'll retreat a bit - cover 'em up and walk away. (Do this with your flow turned off, of course...)

Small amounts of kalk paste dripped onto a zoanthid below one of the majanos - it recovered in a day or so.

Make em a nice kalkpaste hotel. I've only had a few aptasia in my tank ever but the paste works very well. Only do a few at a time so you dont spike your alk. I've never had one come back after using it.

I do exactly what maritimer does. Flow off for about 30 min, cover them in paste. It will gel up after a few minutes and stay there.

Kalk paste is really the only option at this point. Is the chalice on a plug that you can move? They are a pretty resilient species I have found in terms of light/flow/nurients, id be tempted to move him if you are unable to procure kalk for a paste.
