Hi all. I have delt with aptasia in the past over my 33yrs of reef keeping. Ive eradicated them with nudi, peppermint shrimp, and butterfly fish in the past.
My current tank has a huge majano outbreak, which has cost me huge in coral losses.

Currently building a 1200gal system which will have extra protocol to keep pest out.
Id like to transfer some of my coral (frags) over. Before i do id like to clear the current of all the majano before cutting coral for qt. Any good suggestions?

If you’re setting up a system that large I imagine you could setup a smaller coral QT system. I would frag the corals you have (don’t get greedy), and move them to coral QT. Obviously don’t use anything else from the majano system to run the QT. Break down majano tank, setup a new, and if frags are clean after several weeks (or months) populate your new tank. I’m way more scared of majano than aiptasia.

I realize that I’m not really answering your question. But I don’t think there’s any way to eradicate the majano to the point where you wouldn’t need to coral QT when moving over to the new tank.

The coral qt is already cycling. My goal for this post is to remove them from the current system before moving frags to qt. Doing so keeps them from entering qt.

I thought i made it clear that they will be passing through qt prior to entering the new system, in the original post.

You’re right, you did say that. I missed that part. Best of luck to you.
